Sandstorm, the other Wreckers and Emirate Xaaron were captured by Flame but managed to escape and join up with first Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots and then Decepticons Flywheels and Trypticon.

No explanation was given for his presence, so it is generally considered a mistake. Sandstorm was later seen among the Earth Autobots, welcoming Blaster back to the Ark. Sandstorm and the others ran a number of missions under Optimus Prime's command, disrupting local Decepticon operations, before Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus both returned to Earth. They were stopped by Outback and accepted Optimus Prime as genuine after Emirate Xaaron vouched for him. Unaware this was misinformation spread by Megatron and Straxus, Sandstorm and the other Wreckers, under Ultra Magnus' command, captured Optimus Prime on his return to Cybertron and prepared to execute him as an imposter. The Autobots then received intelligence that the Decepticons were sending a spy disguised as legendary Autobot leader Optimus Prime.

However, the operation was a disaster: Not only were almost all the Decepticons they were targetting recalled before the Wreckers could spring their ambush, but Impactor was killed by the sole Decepticon straggler Macabre.

They proved their credentials by attacking Wrecker leader Impactor posing as Decepticons. Sandstorm was assigned to the Wreckers by Emirate Xaaron to assist with Operation Volcano, along with fellow Triple Changers Springer and Broadside, after Ultra Magnus was sent to Earth. Naturally, the duo immediately overthrew the planet and summoned Galvatron and the other Decepticons there the plan was ultimately foiled by the Autobots, but at the cost of Paradron itself, which was destroyed.ĭuring his desertion, the Decepticon Triple Changer Octane collaborated with Sandstorm to avoid capture. Outnumbered and fleeing from the Aerialbots, Cyclonus and Scourge took refuge inside a vortex, which transported them to the pacifistic, energy-rich planet of Paradron, which had been settled by Cybertronian refugees. Sandstorm was an Autobot among those Autobots who peacefully settled the planet Paradron as the Mayor. In this weird coalition, both parties are utterly convinced THEY are using the ones using the other party, and not being used.Sandstorm had a notable role in the third season episodes 'Fight or Flee' as the progressive leader of a tribe of peaceful Autobots, and 'Starscream's Ghost' acting as an ally to Octane, who had deserted the Decepticon because of personal trouble with Galvatron. Luca is a man with huge ambition and little restraint, but to his credit, he somehow convinced the Decepticons that they need him. Blinded by the prospect of finding an artefact that could lead him to great power. He is a highly intelligent but ill tempered relic hunter.
